Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808633).Originally just four verses, this hymn was first published in 1751 with lyrics written in Latin by John Francis Wade. The melody has also been attributed to Wade, along with several others. The introduction to this version of "Oh Come, All Ye Faithful" features a cascade of notes, an effect that continues during the first time through of the melody. This is followed by a marcato, almost march-like, variation with the horn playing an alternate tune. The wrap-up is more grand and traditional, but it still holds a few surprises.
This arrangement was completed in 2012, and performance time runs about 2 minutes, 34 seconds. This version is also available for brass quintet with a second trombone (instead of Horn in F).
