I composed this piece during the 1st lockdown of 2020. While playing Ode to Joy with the windows wide open to give my neighbors some courage, joy and hope, the idea of composing piano variations on this theme grew. So I created my first variations for piano. They will always remind me of this difficult time when music gave me so much strength.
