Baton Music #BM674-SET. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM674-SET).Russian composer Anton Arensky (1861-1906) composed his ballet Nuits d'Egypte, based on Théophile Gautier's novella Une nuit de Cléopatre, in 1900. The ballet was programmed by Serge Diaghilev at his Paris Saisons Russes wich became a great success. The overture from the ballet is a beautifule opening piece which also became a part of the suite Arensky made of the ballet. Dutch arranger Marcel Baars transcribed the entire suite for Symphonic Wind Orchestra. Besides this suite Baton Music publishes also the overture in a seperate edition.
