Over the years it was also recorded by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Geroge Benson, and more. The song, written by Eden Ahbez, was his song about himself. This Big Band jazz arrangement stays true to the melody, but in a Bossa Nova style. The song seems to be made for this Latin style. It allows the band to feature the Flugel Horn, which also fits the dark and brooding mood of the piece. A trumpet can be substituted. There are short solos for Tenor Sax and Tronbone, and a Hard-driving Ensemble section before the arrangment returns to the Flugelhorn. Your drummer should have fun with this- but it is important that the drummer knows how to p0lay the Bossa Bova rhythm, which is written out in the part.
