Composed by William Krell. Arranged by John Gibson. Ragtime. Score and parts. 49 pages. JB Linear #23485. Published by JB Linear (A0.581721).

William Krell's Mississippi Rag (1897) is considered to be one of the first published ragtime pieces. It is in the form of a "patrol" where the listener can imagine a marching band coming up the street, marching past, and then fading away. This arrangement for concert band is by John Gibson and includes the score and parts. The instrumentation is for a standard concert band. It is not too difficult, but requires some quiet playing at the beginning and the end.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
