Composed by Jules Massenet. Arranged by James Pybus. Opera,Romantic Period. 15 pages. James Pybus #35403. Published by James Pybus (A0.764647).

Jules Émile Frédéric Massenet (May 12, 1842 – August 13, 1912) was a French composer best known for his operas. His compositions were very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and he ranks as one of the greatest melodists of his era. Thaïs is a three-act opera with a French libretto by Louis Gallet based on the novel Thaïs by Anatole France. Its famous Méditation, the entr'acte for violin and orchestra played between the scenes of Act II, is an oft-performed concert music piece; it has been arranged for many different instruments. In the present arrangement written in 2012, the original key of D major has been changed to Db to make it more suitable for the saxophone range. The soprano saxophone is the featured voice.
