Composed by Stanley M. Hoffman. Contemporary. Individual part. 4 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #3914649. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.924868).

This piece was composed for a call for score for Vox Novus' 15 Minutes of Fame series for clarinetist William Bruce Curlette to whom the piece is dedicated, and gave the world premiere performance. Limericks and Laughter Thereafter is a jovial piece composed in a chromatically saturated musical language. The clarinet tells and reinterprets the same limerick theme punctuated by musical chortling. Most of the clarinet’s range is used to demonstrate the spectrum of tone colors (from mellow to shrill) that it can produce.
