“Voulez-vous coucher avec moi (ce soir)”… this suggestive lyric is surely the best known of Lady Marmalade, which has often been covered since soul singer Patti LaBelle’s original. Up till now, however, there was no top-notch arrangement for concert band - a situation that Aidan Thomas, well known for his pop and funk arrangements, has now put right.

Deze song uit 1974 van soulzangeres Patti LaBelle werd vooral bekend door de suggestieve passage ‘voulez-vous coucher avec moi (ce soir)’. Het nummer werd veel gecoverd, maar het bestond tot nog toe niet in de vorm van een geslaagd arrangement voor blaasorkest. Aidan Thomas, bekend om zijn affiniteit met pop en funk, maakte er deze verrukkelijke versie van.

Voulez-vous coucher avec moi (ce soir)” - diese suggestive Textzeile ist wohl die bekannteste aus Lady Marmalade, das seit der Erstveröffentlichung der Soulsängerin Patti LaBelle schon oft neu interpretiert wurde. Bis jetzt gab es jedoch keine gelungene Bearbeitung für Blasorchester - eine Lücke, die Aidan Thomas, der bekannt für seine Pop- und Funk-Arrangements ist, nun endlich geschlossen hat.
