The song La Paloma (The Dove) was written by Spanish Basque composer Sebastián Yradier (1809-1865) around 1860 after he had visited Cuba. After its publication in 1879, it quickly became popular, not just in Spain, but in Mexico, then all over the world. It remains one of the most popular songs in history, with over a thousand versions in existence and many recordings. This version for theater orchestra was arranged by S. K. Wright. Instrumentation: 1.1.2.1: 2.2.1.0: Perc(2): Str (9-8-7-6-5 in set). Piano conductor score included in the set.
