Composed by Joshua Fit de Battle of Jericho. Arranged by Sandy McIntire. Folk,Instructional,Jazz,Spiritual,Traditional. Score. 6 pages. Sandy McIntire #6073743. Published by Sandy McIntire (A0.697619).

Joshua Fit de Battle of Jericho is an all-time favorite African-American spiritual believed to have been composed by slaves in the US during the first half of the 19th Century. The lyrics refer to the Hebrew hero Joshua leading his army and musicians against the city of Jericho. This arrangement for Intermediate Piano describes in music how the army stealthily approached and surrounded the city, and then began to blow their ram horns in warning. The rhythm of this arrangement describes how the army relentlessly circled growing closer and louder until "the walls came tumbling down.".

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
