String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.802822

Composed by Cornelis Jordaan. Contemporary. Score and parts. 10 pages. Cornelis Jordaan #2031293. Published by Cornelis Jordaan (A0.802822).

A contemplative, solemn movement for string quartet. The viola pours out a simple yet desperate melody, supported by dark, unrelenting movement in the rest of the quartet - this is an absolute solo for the viola. Performance time clocks in at just under 2 minutes but feel free to experiment with even slower tempi than indicated. I would like to encourage any ensemble performing this to surrender themselves to an utmost feeling of vulnerability and helplessness as they weaken their tone in order to allow the muted viola to really sound above the quartet.
