According to the composer: "This piece started off years ago, when I was starting college as a student of chemistry, as "Liquids" (colloidal, viscous, etc.) and only later, with a few fixes it became all about water. Only a very few temporate liquids (like mercury) do not contain water." There are three movements, "...to a Boil:≈99.9° C" - "...Freeze: 4°-0° C" - "...Vaporize: >99.9° C". Timings: approx.
