The shepherds were watching and guarding
Each sauntering sheep in their folds.
When one began straying instead of remaining,
His shepherd would search in the cold.

And He will guide back to His fold.
Like small lambs, at times, we may wander
Away from God’s teachings of old.
But then as we ponder, each truth becomes fonder
Because love for Jesus unfolds.

Like Bethlehem shepherds in darkness
When lost sheep are meant to enfold,
We need not feel restless, for God does still bless us.
