Composed by Bobby R. Barnes. Christian,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 6 pages. Bobby R. Barnes #6311223. Published by Bobby R. Barnes (A0.946445).

Growing Older  is one of my first choral compositions, told from one's perspective expressing the undeniable reality of life being temporary, yet with a hope beyond it. The music begins the first stanza of words in a slow moving tempo in D major, creating a bit of bittersweetness to the listener. Immediately following is the key of E minor, attempting to convey the emotions of sorrow over words such as "Every moment becoming a memory". Finally, the piece modulates to the Dominant, A major, as a means to present hope from the final stanza describing the hope of "A place that I have never known/ A place where I'll never grow old".
