I originally wrote this piece back in April 2020 during quarantine. However, I decided to make some changes to make it even better and I'm proud of what I came up with. The text is by famous Harlem Renaissance poet, Langston Hughes. He is one of my favorite poets. I always dreamed I'd write a choral piece using his text and my dream has become a reality.
