Composizione a 4 voci del maestro di cappella della basilica romana di S.Pietro Giuseppe Ottavio Pitoni. Pitoni, reatino, studiò a Roma con Francesco Foggia e presto ricoprì importanti incarichi musicali, prima a Monterotondo ed Assisi, poi a Roma. Fu un notevole compositore anche in stile concertato, ma la sua fama è legata più alle opere sacre in stile  contrappuntistico severo, sulle orme di Palestrina.
Qui si propone un suo semplice ma maestoso Laudate Dominum a 4 voci.

A score for 4 voices by G.O.Pitoni, who studied in Rome with Francesco Foggia and followed mainly Palestrina's contrapuntal style. He was chapel master in many churches, last and most important St.Peter's cathedral in Rome.
