About the collection: Rocky Mountain Alphorns’ ‘Generations’ album, released in June 2018, is a collaboration between William and Jim Hopson, a father/son duo who are both internationally acclaimed Alphorn players. The Solo Collection includes original compositions written specifically for the album, covering a wide variety of musical styles. ‘Willi Melodie’ is a short unaccompanied piece in the traditional Alphorn style. ‘Jodelhorn’ is a fun, uptempo piece that showcases the virtuosic side of the instrument. ‘Alphorn Shuffle’ features the instrument in a Blues style, with an opportunity for the performer to improvise if so desired.
