Composed by Moshe S. Knoll. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 38 pages. ArtsAhimsa #6079469. Published by ArtsAhimsa (A0.950866).

This work was commissioned by Professor Lisa Gambacciani for the Trio Veneziano.
Each Intermezzo explores the harmonic and contrapuntal possibilities of a given mode.
The first is composed in Dorian Mode in A;  the second is in Phrygian Mode in D; the third is in Lydian Mode in E;  and the last one is in Mixolydian Mode in A. In these pieces there are echoes of the music from times past, from the Late Middle Ages to the Baroque, but everything is heard and felt through the filter of our post-Modern sensibility.
This contemporary remembrance of historical polyphony, this keen interest in counterpoint, is something the author received from his teacher David Diamond (1915 - 2005).
This music is suitable for concerts, and also for meditation and contemplation.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
