Published by Daniel Kaplan (A0.1410742).Dvorak's charming and wonderful Bagatelles are rarely performed, because he wrote them for two violins, cello, and harmonium, and who has a harmonium anymore? (They are sometimes performed with substitution of a piano for the harmonium, but the harmonium version is far superior, as the piano lacks the sustaining quality of the harmonium.) But they are a natural for woodwinds! Kaplan is engaged in a project to make classics from other genres available to woodwind players and has also arranged several other great works for this ensemble. Many of them are now for sale on this webste, and more will be uploaded soon.
Note that due to Dvorak's key signatures and the varying tessituras of the parts, the movements sometimes call for oboe and sometimes for English horn, and the clarinet parts alternate between clarinet in B-flat and in A.
