This "Fantasia" was composed for solo mandolin over the period of around 2 years. This version was adapted for solo flute, which is another favorite instrument of mine. There is a folky/americana characteristic to the main melodic idea, and a bit of minimalism to counter. I have always been interested in the musical connections between folk, baroque, and contemporary musical styles. Hopefully this piece captures some of those connections.
