Jacques Féréol Mazas' Etudes Op. 36 for violin were first published in 1843 by Simrock. This publication is the later transcription (c. 1880) of the etudes for viola by Ludwig Pagels. These advanced studies address all manner of technique and expression, including bowing, dynamics, string crossings, multiple stops, left hand pizzicato, musical ornamentation and more.
