Dua Lipa wrote the track with Caroline Ailin, Emily Warren, and its producer Ian Kirkpatrick featuring funky basslines throughout the song. The song was recorded by Kirkpatrick using Scarbee MM-Bass plug-in (Kontakt samples). During live performances, it is played using a 4-string Pbass and bass synthesiser by Matthew Carroll.
This transcription is based on the album version and arranged to be played on a 5-string bass with standard tuning. If you preferred to use a 4-string bass, I have provided an option as indicated by smaller notations in the score (I have also included a small note during the section). You can also play as Matthew Carroll did during his performance with Dua Lipa. He uses 4-string Pbass for the whole song but played the bass synthesiser during the "Pre-Chorus" sections.
This song is in the key of B minor and is about 3’03" long. The tempo is at 124bpm and quite challenging, where it features a lot of upbeat rhythms. Still, it is perfect for an intermediate player who is looking for a challenge. Aside from playing with plucking technique, you are also required to perform "pop" technique during the "Chorus" parts.
