Doin' Your Very Best is the music composed for the words of our school song, and was inspired by Dr. Barbara M.

Pettiford and Dr. Willie Miles.

Dr. Pettiford and Dr. Miles are sister and brother, and were my administrators at Madison County Central School.

My favorite years of teaching were under their leadership, and their love for the student's, faculty, and each other

were an inspiration to all. I am truly grateful to both of them for their support, encouragement, and friendship. Dr.

Pettiford and Dr. Miles have enriched the lives of countless students, and my life has been richly blessed by having

the privilege of knowing both of them.

It is my hope that Doin' Your Very Best will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play, and

provide other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate and encourage their students.

Doin' Your Very Best is dedicated to Dr. Barbara M. Pettiford and Dr. Willie Miles.
