Recorded by Peggy Lee. Edited by Rob DuBoff and Jeffrey Sultanof. Arranged by Pete Rugolo. Jazz Vocal. Ballad/Swing. Full score and set of parts. Published by Jazz Lines Publications (JL.JLP-9298).

This Pete Rugolo arrangement, recorded by Peggy Lee for Capitol Records in 1949, features 6 reeds, horn in F, 4 celli, and harp along with a rhythm section (see below for the reed doubles). Rugolo did a masterful job of creating a very programatic and dramatic arrangement to suit Lee's voice. A repeated section was cut for the 1949 recording as it would have put the length of the arrangement at 4:30 - a full minute longer than the accepted maximum record length at the time. For this publication the repeated section is included. The harp part has been cued in the piano in the event that a harpist is not available. Vocal key: Ab.
