Christmas is the time of the year where everyone comes together, and peace, family and friendship bonds are strengthened. When selecting repertoire for your Christmas concert, it’s difficult to find new arrangements that are both challenging and funto work on, as well as fun for the audience. Crazy for Christmas is one of those pieces by the Belgian composer Bert Appermont. He uses canons and even fugues throughout this arrangement and foresees a spectacular ending. It is based on Ilest né le divin Enfant and Away in a Manger but refers wittily to Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, The Twelve Days of Christmas and Hark, the Herald AngelsSing. So ‘crazy’ all the way!
Kerstmis is de tijd van het jaar waarin iedereen samenkomt: het is een feest van vrede, familie en vriendschap. Het selecteren van repertoire voor een kerstconcert valt niet altijd mee: het is lastig nieuwe arrangementen te vinden die uitdagend énleuk om te spelen zijn en bovendien het publiek zullen aanspreken. Crazy for Christmas van de Belgische componist Bert Appermont draagt al deze aspecten in zich. In dit arrangement worden canons en zelfs fuga’s gebruikt, en het slot isronduit spectaculair. Bei der Auswahl des Repertoires für ein Weihnachtskonzert ist es schwierig, neue Arrangements zu finden, die sowohleine musikalische Herausforderung darstellen als auch Spaß machen und zugleich dem Publikum gefallen. Das Werk Crazy for Christmas des belgischen Komponisten Bert Appermont gehört zu diesen Stücken. Er verwendet in diesem Arrangement Kanonsund sogar Fugen und alles steuert auf einen spektakulären Schluss zu. Proprio per questo motivo il compositore belga Bert Appermont ha scritto Crazy for Christmas, brano basato su Il Est Né le Divin Enfant e Lontano in una Mangiatoia e arricchito da elementi dal fascino antico come canonie fughe oltre che da stuzzicanti rimandi a Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls e The Twelve Days of Christmas.
