Und drittens ist seine Idee der Polymetrik und deren Umsetzung einfach genial: Die Parallelität unterschiedlicher Tempi, hier kombiniert mit „superschnellen solistischen Aktionen“ (Ligeti), erzeugt genau den einzigartigen, immer wieder atemberaubenden schwebend-irisierenden „Ligeti-Sound“, für den der Komponist bis heute bewundert und verehrt wird.
