Composed by Traditional Irish Folk Song. Arranged by James Pybus. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Traditional. 17 pages. James Pybus #4990919. Published by James Pybus (A0.764699).

Carrickfergus is an Irish folk song, named after the town of Carrickfergus in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Most of the story seems to occur in and around Kilkenny; indeed the "Ballygran" referred to in the song may be the local Ballingarry coal mines. "Marble...black as ink" is also mined locally. It was first recorded, under the name The Kerry Boatman, by Dominic Behan on an LP called The Irish Rover, released in 1965. This arrangement of this hauntingly beautiful song for either SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet will give any group a chance to demonstrate its expressive capabilities. It is suitable for many performance situations. The duration is 3:17. Please contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.
