Cantus is the Latin word for song - and so this piece is a meditation set to music in a melodious vocal style. It should motivate both players and audience to turn their gaze inward, to switch off and let themselves be carried away by the music, to find an inner rest thatopens up a window to the ‘Self’. Cantus will add a touch of tranquillity and well being to any concert.The printed edition of Cantus contains a CD with sounds of the ocean that can be played during the performance.

Cantus is het Latijnse woord voor zang - en dit werk is inderdaad vocaal en melodieus gecomponeerd. Het is bedoeld om de luisteraar te bewegen zich even voor de buitenwereld af te sluiten en het venster te openen naar het eigeninnerlijk. Spiritualiteit gaat in het dagelijks leven vaak verloren. Met Cantus komt eenieder tot zichzelf: een mooie compositie voor een sereen rustpunt tijdens uw volgende concert.

Cantus ist in Musik umgesetzte Meditation. Abschalten, sich von der Musik tragen lassen, in sich gehen - diese Musik lässt bei jedem Menschen verschiedene Bilder von Ereignissen, Landschaften und Menschen vor dem inneren Auge erscheinen. Ein wunderschönes, langsames Werk, von dem der Zuhörer nicht nur ein Gefühl der Ruhe, sondern eine ganz persönliche Erfahrung mit nach Hause nehmen kann.Die Notenausgabe enthält eine CD mit Meeresrauschen, die während der Aufführung abgespielt werden kann.

Cantus (terme latin signifiant « chant ») est une œuvre méditative d’une expressivité étonnante, une sorte de chant qui incite au rel chement et l’introspection. Chercher la paix intérieure pour ouvrir une fenêtre sur le Moi quand le quotidien nous éloigne du sens de la spiritualité. Partons en quête du véritable centre de notre être. Les images et les pensées suscitées par cette méditation sont celles d’événements, de paysages, de situations de vie ou de gens avec qui nous avons tissé des liens étroits.
