If bare feet symbolize innocence, simplicity and vulnerability (as opposite to shoes, which imply civilization and protection), being barefoot alludes to a certain degree of purification, and walking barefoot conveys the idea of overcoming the obstacles of daily life. Such idea is reinforced in this title by the element water.
