This music fits surprisingly well with a wind quintet. The melody lines sound beautifully varied in all voices.
The main theme of the set is the opening of the folk song “Hrály dudy” (The bagpipes played). Dvorak really enjoyed writing the Bagatelles, and you can hear that in this lyrical music... and it's a joy to play!
