This piece consists of infectious melodies and plenty of rhythmic interest to brighten this delightful
patriotic march for young bands. Written with careful attention to the needs of young musicians, this
work is perfect as a flag-waver for any concert! American Freedom was inspired by many different things,
one mainly being John Philip Sousa’s ‘The Stars and Stripes Forever' for the name, as well as Karl L. King’s
‘Allied Honor.’ The beginning is based on ‘The Stars and Stripes Forever’ As it is almost identical, but not
quite.
It is a bouncy, fun march for grade two musicians. As stated above, it works perfectly as a flag-waver for
any concert!
