Composed by Ben Dockery. Contemporary,Instructional,Latin,Standards. Score. 5 pages. Ben Dockery #3121721. Published by Ben Dockery (A0.692997).

Adrift is a contemplative, intermediate piece written in a neo-classical, minimalist style.  The immediate challenge for the student is learning to play in 7/8 time signature and making sure the lyrical melody sings out without sounding forced or stiff.  The first and last section has the melody in the left-hand, whereas the middle section inverts this pattern.  Care should be taken to appropriately balance the accompaniment part with the melody.  Although not intentionally written with Latin music in mind, the middle section has a distinct quality reminiscent of music by Antonio Carlos Jobim.
