Cuba is one of the word’s few remaining communist countries and has a turbulent history behind it, in no small part due to the charismatic Fidel Castro, who has steered a more Western course in the last few years. Willy Fransen wrote a musical travel piece about the real Havana with illustrations from the local scene, enjoying a daiquiri while a live band plays in the Buena Vista Social Club.

Cuba is nog steeds één van de weinige communistische landen ter wereld en heeft een turbulente geschiedenis achter zich, niet in het minst door de charismatische Fidel Castro, die de laatste jaren een meer Westerse koers vaarde.Willy Fransen schreef een muzikaal reisverslag over Havana ’pur sang’ met sfeerbeelden van de couleur locale, genieten van een daiquiri bij een live band in de Buena Vista Social Club.
