Composed by Ryan Alexander Noakes. Contemporary. Octavo. 7 pages. Ryan Alexander Noakes #5318807. Published by Ryan Alexander Noakes (A0.932364).

The inspiration for this piece came on a hot summer's day, looking up at the bold blue sky and seeing a single small cloud drift by. As a cloud is an atmospheric phenomenon this is an atmospheric piece - no one voice part has the melody but rather it is the changing of the chords of the full choir that creates the melodic line.

There is no tonal centre to the work, so it is suggested for more advanced choirs. Due to the lack of tonal centre in this piece, it may be easier to learn by simply going through and building each chord in succession so the singers have the sound in their ears before singing through for the first time.
