Published by Rudy Volkmann (A0.1005647).In the mid-1970s I wrote these pieces to acquaint trumpet students to the the phrasing and style of Baroque pieces in ranges more accessible to intermediate and developing students. The long notes and sequences are perfect for learning how to make the music "live" the way artists like murine Andre did for the Baroque solos he recorded. The keys are varied with one each in the keys close to C (for the trumpet). These are great pieces for recitals and contests for developing students. I liked the melodies so much that I expanded the accompaniment figures (considerably) and arranged them as processionals for brass quintet, organ, and optional timpani.
