Telemann wrote well over a hundred orchestral suites. The paltry few that have seen the light of day as printed scores makes any new appearance a reason for celebration, especially when done as attractively as these six from Ortus. Nine from the old Telemann Auswahlausgabe are available only in large...

music libraries. By my count of currently available scores, Corona has published four, Eulenburg and Barenreiter three each, and Rohr one. The Ortus editor, Peter Huth, has written a brief but excellent commentary on the "Ouvertures a 4 ou 6".
