The Lone, Wild Bird. Composed by Edward J. Eicker. Arranged by Edward Eicker. Advent, Lent, Holy Thursday, OT 8 A, Easter Vigil, Good Friday. Choral. Tune Name: Prospect. Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. GIA Publications #7238. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-7238).

UPC: 785147723806. English. Text Source: Primary text: Delores Dufner, OSB, Secondary text: Henry Richard McFayden, 1877&ndash,1964, alt. Text by Delores Dufner.

This Southern Harmony tune is paired with two texts: a Triduum hymn and a hymn to the Holy Spirit. Nicely arranged for three mixed voices, the choral writing develops as the piece progresses through its three stanzas. This setting can be sung on Holy Thursday, and again with the alternate text on Pentecost—or the Sundays leading up to that feast.
