SAB choir, Organ or Piano - Easy/Medium

SKU: PL.0005

Composed by J. William Greene. Parish. Choral, Evensong, General. Octavo. Paraclete Press #0005. Published by Paraclete Press (PL.0005).

This beautiful anthem is striking in its simplicity. Richard Proulx has set this uplifting text by Hamish Swanston in chant-like phrases for the choir. Woven around the choir part are pealings from an octave and a half of handbells again reminiscent of chant. The rhythm is highly flexible creating a timeless flow to the text. The phrases in four parts are developed from the chant melody and retain the liquidity of rhythm. This anthem would be particularly appropriate at services of evening prayer or Evensong. If handbells are not available the composer has written an optional flute part.
