    Difficulty Level:
  • October 11, 2021 Nice Arrangements

I have only worked on a few pieces out of the book so far, but have found these to be satisfying arrangements. I would rate myself at an intermediate level and have found the pieces to be challenging but not out of reach. I certainly plan on exploring much more...

of the book and feel it will be well worth my time.

    Difficulty Level:
  • February 23, 2021 The Wrong Book! Not by Joe Washington!

This collection of 31 Beatles tunes says "arranged by John Hill". Difficulty is intermediate +/-. I do own a copy of Joe Washington's book, Volume I. This book by John Hill is different kettle of fish. I see lots of potential with this book, if you like to tinker with...

arranging. Most tunes in basic keys, like C or G.

    Difficulty Level:
  • October 10, 2004 SIMPLY THE BEST

Of the many pop/rock guitar arrangements I have seen and tried out, Joe Washington's are clearly the best. In some cases I find the guitar music even better than the original. And there are very few arrangements I do not like, or find somewhat uninspired. My favourites are...

: If I fell; And I love her; Ob-la-di Ob-la-da (sic!); Honey Pie; Michelle; From me to you (easy but very effective); Here, there and everywhere.

    Difficulty Level:
  • March 13, 2001 Playing Beatles Solo

After many years of hoping for good arrangements of some of the more beautiful Beatles tunes, I found this volume in 1977 in Barcelona, then my home. It was everything I'd hoped for. Mr Washington knows the guitar. His arrangements fit very nicely on the fingerboard. Where I disagreed...

with his arranging, it was easy to alter. If he selected more Beatle song than I would have, still, he did include all the ones I was hoping to play, if you include Vol. 2, which contains the gem "Here, There and Everywhere." Of all the arrangements I've seen of Beatle songs for classical guitar, in my opinion, none compare to Joe Washington's work.
