The Russian liturgical repertory is an arcane gem of sorts; few know of it, but those who do rave about it. I first heard this music in the luscious recording Chanticleer made for their album "Magnificat," and was captivated. Titov strikes an excellent balance between polychoral counterpoint and massive blocks...

of harmony, creating out of it all music of great joy for the most joyous season in the liturgical year. Certainly not music for beginners, but well worth the effort to master it.
