this book is the first book i used when i started violin. the tunes are a lot of fun and playing the warmups over and over again helped a lot. i like playing with the cd. music reading was new to me but the book progression and layout made it...

seem easy from the beginning and there are little diagrams for the fingers on the neck of the violin. i'm in book 3 and plan to learn all 5 books. highly recommend them.

  • August 03, 2010 great beginner book with cd

My daughter and I are enjoying this method book very much. It has lovely songs, warmups, scales and really easy, basic duets. I found it easy to follow as we went along in it's clear step by step approach. I'd recommend it to beginners of any age. Listening...

to the cd helps us to know how the songs sound if we aren't familiar with them, but most songs are popular in the book. We just began taking private lessons, and our teacher said we did a really great job!

  • October 24, 2009 fun violin method book/cd is very good

I have played violin for 4 months now and have used this method which moves in small clear steps but covers a lot of ground. This is my first experience with this new cd. I love the cd. I play along with the violinist or just the piano tracks and...

I like having both options. Loads of fun! I was able to print out the piano accompaniments for a friend and save that money, so $9.95 is a really good deal. I recommend this method to older beginners like me but have witnessed children who enjoy it. I use the Abcs of violin dvds too. I'd recommend getting them too. All is worth the money if you want to get good at violin beginning later in life. So glad I did it all!!
