  • January 05, 2012 the bible of madrigals

I first bought a copy of this 1935 book in the 1960s, and after 40 years I (like a previous commenter) lent it to someone who never returned it. I was pleased that SMP was selling it for a quite reasonable price. IMHO, this is the bible of madrigal books...

, although some of the translations are, er, bowdlerized.

  • February 20, 2009 A staple for your choir.

I conduct a community based madrigal group, and this collection of songs is the staple of our group. Since there is invariably new members coming & going, this collection provides a core group of songs to keep the group going forward as well as having enough songs to do a ready...

performance with a little brush up. This is the best.

    madrigals.

  • November 20, 2002 Best Teaching Tool for Sight Reading!!!

Madrigals and Motets, what better way to get your students reading music than to use the first form of popular music? This book has a wide range of difficulties and is sure to become a mainstay in your repertoire!!
