I just saw a kid in 7th grade play this and get a superior rating.... come on now. Man up. Especially if youre a tuba player.

This is not a solo to be thrown in the trash - its a very effective learning tool. Its writing is characteristic of Wilder's other brass compositions and we are lucky to have had someone so creative write for tuba (and horn) frequently. "Effie" actually stands for "F" and "E...

". F below the staff is the lowest not in this piece and E above the staff is the highest. Although related to an elephant. Effie falls in Love is one of the most beautiful genuine songs that can be performed on tuba. Feel free to take this piece apart and perform them or even rename it to "Suite for Tuba" instead of explaining the elephant goods. It doesn't need visuals to work musically but it does help it be more accessible to larger audiences.Enjoy.

  • October 17, 2008 Warning: Bumpy road ahead!

After seeing the music, I know what Effie really stands for: Extra Formidable Facility Is Enforced. So many notes! So little time! It might take me a year (or more) of practice to get there, but this is certainly going to test my chops as a tubist. Get it if...

you are up to the challenge!

  • August 07, 2008 This piece of trash sucks

I've been playing tuba for about 17 years now and i can honestly say this musical piece, if you can call it that, is absolute garbage. Theres six long movements to try and learn and conjure, without trying to keep an audience entertained. The lyrical slurs and instrumental punctuations...

are sloppy and thrown all together that it honestly sound like elephant [splat] . Please stay away from this song, you'll be glad you did!
