    This is a beautiful Urtext edition with an edited and unedited violin part with all the page turns worked out just right. If you have performed this work with either Henle or International edition, you are familiar with the frantic page turns in the first movement. With this edition, the...

    page turns are much more reasonable. The fingerings and bowing are based on more "authentic" performance practices. They are very interesting and are challenging to think about, but they are definitely not mainstream contemporary performance practices. (Free use of open string, harmonics, portamento, and sparing use of vibrato is assumed). Studying some other major editions alongside this one is probably a good idea.
