Composed by Stanley M. Hoffman. Contemporary. 1 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #3913187. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.924841).

The idea for this piece were inspired by the submissions guidelines of the performing ensemble "a very small consortium." That the piece needed to consist of 100 or fewer notes and be 60 seconds or less in duration caused the composer to think about how time passes in a very measured way. The resultant composition is supposed to be an audio snippet of music embodying the inexorable march of time, with indications such as "As if tuning-in to music that is already going on," (Not cadencing is what makes the march inexorable), and "Quickly turning down the volume knob."
