This is the ancient Advent hymn arranged here for SATB, trumpet and organ from organ and choral settings by J. S. Bach and Pachelbel. Beginning with a cappella men's voices and solo trumpet, it builds to a triumphant final verse with the choir in unison. Suitable for church services and seasonal concerts, I have performed this very effectively with my choir positioned down the side aisles of the church, then processing up the center aisle during the final verse.
