William Hawley's Sappho Songs for Mezzo-Soprano and Orchestra were composed for the Mezzo Kimball Wheeler, and premiered by her with Jorge Mester conducting the Aspen Chamber Symphony at the Aspen Music Festival in 1987. This is the score in ms, which was used in the World Premiere performance. The audio clip is the full recording of the World Premiere performance.
