Henry Fillmore's Rolling Thunder is a great circus march, as breathtaking in its excitement as the action feats in the center ring. Calvin Custer takes this terrific march classic and reduces just the technical demands. Now your band can smell the sawdust and have all the fun. On with the show! (2:12).

I played this in Westbrook Intermediate's Advanced band, in Houston, Texas, 2008-2009. You can find videos of us playing it on youtube. If you want to hear it, search "Westbrook intermediate rolling thunder." It was very fun, and challenging at first. A similar march I recommend is Circus...

    Bee, also by Henry Fillmore.

  • September 18, 2004 Rolling Thunder A Brilliant Masterpeice

O.k I played Rolling Thunder when i was in 8th grade . I am in 9th now. I play the trombone but i had the baritone part . The piece is at 160 beats per minute and its in two four time . It was brilliantly written and it was a pleasure...

to play . The woodwinds and the brass switch from melody to melody and the beginning and the end is very fast . This is a a piece you should buy and have .
