Escogà este himno de Santo Tomás de Aquino porque el coro deseaba tener este en su repertorio de Semana Santa. Su estructura es A-B-Coda. La parte A alcanza tensión mediante un breve motivo ascendente que se repite. La parte B asemeja una entonación de canto gregoriano que progresa armónicamente paralela en todas las voces. La Coda es un pequeño contrapunto sobre la palabra Amen.

"Pange lingua" is composed for the Agrupación Coral Santa MarÃa de Castro Urdiales (Spain). I chose this hymn of St. Thomas Aquinas because the choir wanted to have this one in its Easter repertoire. Its structure is A-B-Coda. Part A reaches tension with a brief repeated ascending motif. Part B resembles a Gregorian song intonation that progresses in parallel chords. Coda is a simple counterpoint on the word Amen.
