I am an older adult semi-prefessional musician beginning accordionist. I have been taking accordion for about three months. I found the book to be a good step-up point between the Palmer Hughes Book 2 and 3. The book provided the beginning accordionist with some delightful well known old...

tunes that could be used for a variety performing venues. My only reservation with the book would be that for some of the younger accordionists the book is limited to music almost exclusively from the early 1900's. Though the arrangements contained within the book were pleasing they were basic and left a lot up to the performer to add creative touches to really sell the piece. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to beginner who would like to expand their repetoire with some of the old classic tunes and/or is not quite ready to take the plunge into book three.
